HEERF Funds Report
HEERF I STATEMENT:
Jenny Lea Academy signed & submitted to the Department of Education the “Recipient’s Funding Certification & Agreement” for students & for the institution (HEERF I FUNDS). $249,744 was received for our Johnson City, TN campus. $76,044 was received for our Whitesburg, KY campus.
The required 50% of these funds was issued to students to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief & Economic Security (CARES) Act. 75 Tennessee students were eligible & to date all students have received these funds. 27 Kentucky students were eligible & to date all have received funds.
All students enrolled & attending as of March 20th in Tennessee & March 19th in Kentucky & that returned to school upon reopening received an equal share of the grant money. Students signed a disclosure stating that the money received is intended to cover the student’s expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
HEERF II STATEMENT:
On 3/31/21, Jenny Lea Academy submitted to the Department of Education the “Recipient’s Funding Certification & Agreement” for student aid due to Covid 19 (HEERF II funds). $113,175 was received for our Johnson City, TN campus. $41,995 was received for our Whitesburg, KY campus.
88 Tennessee students were eligible & to date 84 students have received their funds. 19 Kentucky students were eligible & to date 18 have received their funds.
All students enrolled & attending as of April 12th in Tennessee & April 22nd in Kentucky received an equal share of the grant money.
HEERF III STATEMENT:
On 5/12/21, HEERF III funds for students were applied for by submitting the “Required Proprietary Institution Certification Form”. These funds total $65,905 for Johnson City & $24,416 for Whitesburg. We are waiting approval.
